The MacLeods of Pabbay and Uig

The MacLeods of Pabbay and Uig ( Lewis)

The name MacLeod means son (Mac = gealic for son) of Leod . You will notice in the first generation of the genealogy that the first MacLeod is called Leod , the son of the Viking King , Olaf the Black .
There are so many branches , who spell their name in different ways, such as McLeod, Mcloud, McLoud and even Mackloudt ( in The Netherlands) .

The MacLeods of Pabbay and Uig are a branch of one ( Lewis ) of the two main branches ( Sky and Lewis ) of the MacLeod family tree. They distinct themselves by writing their name with a small l ( Macleod) rather than the capital L of MacLeod .
The MacLeods – The Genealogy of a Clan is an up to date family tree , published in Edinburgh in 1975. Section four of that publication shows part of the following information.
