 In dit hoofdstuk kan je foto's vinden van verschillende Nederlandse maatschappijen. Ik startte met fotograferen rond 1980. De meeste bedrijven en bussen uit die tijd zijn nu geschiedenis. De Streekvervoerbedrijven gingen op in Connexxion of Arriva. De BBA gaat verder onder de naam van z'n huidige eigenaar Veolia, en was bijna uit Brabant verdwenen. In die tijd waren er ook nog kleine particuliere vervoerders zoals Veldhuis, en de EGAO. Veel foto's maakt ik op het busstation in Arnhem. Daarover heb ik een speciale pagina gemaakt.
In this section you will find pictures of several Dutch Bus companies. I started making pictures around 1980. A lot of the companies from that period doesn't exist anymore. The "Dutch Railway Daughters" are part of conneXXion or Arriva now. Around 1980 there where still some privat companies like Veldhuis Aalten or EGAO (Citybus Gorinchem). Until 1983 I lived in Arnhem. I took a lot of picture at the busstation there. Therefore you will find a special page about Arnhem Busstation in 1980. |

 De foto's op deze pagina heb ik grotendeels tijdens vakanties gemaakt. De laatste tijd zorgt het werk ook wel eens voor een buitenlandse bestemming met interessant openbaar vervoer. In de jaren tachtig ben ik per trein naar Griekenland en Portugal geweest. In Athene reden toen nog de oude itiliaase trolleybussen. Lissabon had nog een groot tramnet en in Porto reden nog steeds trams en trollybussen, waaronder dubbeldekkers.

The pictures on this page are mainly taken during hollidays. In the 1980's I travelled by train to Greece and Portugal. In Athens I photographed the old italian trolleybuses. Lisbon had still a big streecar system and the streecars and trolleybuses in Porto were still running.  In 1980 bezocht ik het westen van de Verenigde Staten. Hoogtepunt was een bezoek aan San Francisco, met z'n trolleybussen, cablecars, trams en metro. In 2000 and 2006 bezocht ik deze stad nog een keer. In 1988 ben ik met de Greyhoundbus door het zuiden van de Verenigde Staten getrokken. De meeste foto's in dit hoofdstuk komen van deze reizen.
I traveled to the USA a couple of times. In 1980 I visited the Western States. Highlight of this journey was San Francisco, with its trolleybuses, cable cars, trolley's, Metro etc. In 1988 I traveled through the Southern States with the Greyhound. One of the cities I visited was New Orleans. In 2000 and 2006 I visited San Francisco again.
